These 2 are incredibly powerful and seeing Guan Yu use “God of War” on his foes is so badass. They’re also on of only three heroes I’m aware of that have a unique late game ability that can only be activated ONCE.

Both have their unique character art, abilities, and voice actors and I absolutely love them. They look cool, but Sun Ren is CLEARLY more unique, because she gets her own voice actor and unique abilities, not to mention the ability to choose every weapon type in the game which makes her a lot more versatile.Īnother is Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, Liu Bei’s starting legends. Both are the children to Sun Jian and thus have their own unique character art. There are countless examples of bias on certain characters. But it quickly becomes boring when unique and cool abilities are so far and in-between. They missed out because this could have easily been their greatest strength, since collecting these warloads was almost as fun as something like a trading card game. This is so frustrating because it makes the entire cast feel a lot more repetitive, similar, and boring. What really sucks about these heroes however is that some clearly have more effort put into them than others. This is what I personally enjoy the most and finding or using diplomacy to capture rare and powerful heroes like Lu Bu is so damn fun. Now why play romance mode? Because of those cool looking heroes or legends, warloads, whatever. This was probably just put in there to satisfy fans who prefer the traditional approach, and I actually dislike this because it feels like it taking away time they could’ve spent on what they really wanted build, romance mode. It simply feels like a bland removal of the features in romance mode with an increased fatigue rate. I honestly don’t even know why they decided to keep this in the game. To start I’ll quickly talk about records mode. This is my first total war game ever, so I may value certain aspects differently than old-school fans. With that being said, it’s clear to me that this game has a lot of faults and some very odd design decisions that hold it back from being as fun as it could be IMO. I don’t remember playing that much in such a short amount of time for a very long time. I have been addicted to it since launch and already played over 200hrs in just a month.
